I have had mine running since Monday, and have virtually no frost, and am dry camping up here in Michigan at MIS Speedway.

Just a quick post to let people know that it is more efficient to pull hot air out of the rear cavity than it is to push cool air into the cavity. However, regarding the previous post, doing it that way is better than not doing anything at all.

These absorption refrigerators only work well when the heat can be removed quickly otherwise the food in both the freezer and refrigerator will NOT get cold.

Actually you are incorrect. the "rear cavity" is a convection stack, and the convection naturally pulls air into the bottom (Lower Vent) and convection causes it to exhaust through the top (Upper Vent). So if one places the fan on the lower vent, then it should force air into the stack, and conversely if the fan is placed on the upper vent, then one should set the fan to exhaust there by enhancing the natural convection,.

"rear cavity" Your use of this term made me wonder if you might be Tony Wiener.

It was a good race except some number 88 car, can't think of who that is, hit the wall and took the win away from #99

So we got the little blue double fan and spent quite a while trying to install it. However, Dometic has defeated us I believe. In the NDM 1062 model they have put a halogen fixture in that is in line with an ambient temperature switch. When the temp is below 50 outside, one should turn on the ambient switch. This will keep the light on in the frig with the door closed and force the refrigerator to run more. Thus, unless the ambient switch is on, there is no continuous 12 volt line with the bulb. At this point I think I will watch the frig closely this summer and see if I can regulate it with the slide on the fins and watch for ice build up. If it gets to be a problem, I may get a battery operated fan to assist. So much for more advanced technology being better.

You can easily use the less expensive 12 VDC muffin fans (computer) from Radio shack and 12 VDC is readily available inside as well as outside.

Did you hook the hot lead directly to the light inside the fridge? I haven't known anyone to have no power to the light.

Last week we were at Sterling State Park in Monroe Mi, and the temps were between the mid 90's to low 100's. Before we left I put a 6 in round fan in behind the fridge to draw more air across the coils, and with the little fan inside the fridge, everything stayed nice and cold including the ice cream.
It was so hot, that at times it was in the mid 80's in the trailer.
