Just paint us Gloomy!

Rain, Rain, go away!

If the weather had been like this the last time we visited Alaska, we would not have returned. We drove down to Valdez on Saturday to glorious sunshine, but our camera was on the wrong setting (From days and days of overcast rainy skies), so our pictures were over exposed. Sunday it rained, Monday it rained, and the forecast for Tuesday is RAIN! Our three cats' paws are beginning to grow webs.

We are committed to staying through July 29 after that we are headed out of here.

I don't if it's consolation or commiseration, but when we were in Alaska two years ago we had rain on average 2 out of every 3 days (and that's counting a nearly 2-week period with no rain). On the other hand when they don't have rain they seem to have wildfires. Sorry about the camera settings, though -- been there, done that!

These rainy experiences have cured me from any thoughts of heading to Alaska with Wandrin Wagon in tow.

Before I retired, I signed up for a three week camping trip (with my sleeping bag and personal stuff) touring Alaska. It was a great way to experience Alaska. That would be the way I would do it again and explore some of the places I did not get to -- like Wrangle St Elias.
