3 Blind Mice, seeing that you are located in Miami, FL my advise to you is that you register to attend the New Horizon Owner's Group (NHOG) rally which will be held the last week of October in Bushnell, FL. You can get the registration information in the "stickie" at the top of the New Horizon section of IRV2. At the rally you will be able to talk with a significant number of New Horizon owners, view their rigs, participate in workshops (many of which deal with issues from a NH's perspective), meet the owners of New Horizon company and much more. If you are trying to make up your mind about a New Horizon purchase, this is the place to be!

3 Blind Mice -- I would be very cautious about planning for a 45-48 ft trailer. We have lived full time in a 32 foot New Horizons for six years. We have been to many campgrounds, state parks, provincial parks (Canada), etc. and we know that often there are size limitations that can limit your choices of where to put the trailer. For us 32 feet is ideal. We would encourage caution for anyone thinking in the upper thirties (35-39) and extreme caution for anyone considering a trailer over 40 feet.

3 Blind Mice: We are in a 39' Summit and while we are very happy with our unit, its size does impose limitations on where we can stay. We tow our 5er with a Freightliner MDT and in all we're about 61' long. There are many campgrounds where we just make it in (as their sites are about 65' long).
As above from Mike Williams, I hope you will come to the NH rally coming up. It will be a good opportunity to see the different units, sizes and configurations, and, to meet a great bunch of folks.

I have been retired for a couple years and sold our RV in 2009 but regret every time we see a nice rig on the road. Since the wife is considering retiring we both are talking about another RV. She would prefer a MH but I would like a Th wheel less required maintenance. I also am interested in the NH 2012 models with 6'10" height in BR ( I am 6'8") I will follow this thread. Thanks

Winemaker and K-Star,
This forum has some excellent posts. The RV Consumer Group offers an excellent set of tools to help you. They also recommend factory tours. I concur 100%. It really helped my better half see the differences in how RVs were manufactured.
We just toured the NH factory, and we were told repeatedly by management that NH is not perfect, but they will do their best to make you happy with your purchase. Given all of that plus the warranty, I can see why NH continues to be the highest rated RV for full-timing.
Good luck and keep on trucking!

Hello everyone...Gary & Sheree here from Australia
We are going to be going on the road permanently in Australia in around 3 years or less we hope...we have been looking for a fifth wheeler manufacturer who will reverse a floor plan for us and do all the things needed for Australian Compliance and to date some will address some of the issues and some will not even look at it. UNTIL we discovered New Horizons
They were so prompt in their email reply and nothing seems to be an issue...so we are very excited in reading the positive comments on here and hope to get heaps more information from owners of New Horizon 5th Wheelers...
Thanks Gary & Sheree
