My N.H. trailer is 5+ years old, and has recently developed a problem with severe moaning and grinding/rubbing and squeaking noises when being extended or retracted. This is also accompanied with severe shuddering, as is rapid starting and stopping while the slide is moving in or out.
I've cleaned and lubed the rails, lubed the chains, applied silicon to the rubber gaskets, and SuperLube to the underside of the slide, per conversations with the company. Still it continues, and in fact, worsens with time.
Has anyone else had this problem, and been able to achieve a fix?
Currently on my way back to the factory, due there 1 or 2 September.

If you have a slide topper, check what it is doing while extending or retracting. My canvas was ripped and hanging up the slide and it did something similar to your description. I had it replaced.

I have some of the same issue. Currently it is mostly a noise concern but one worries about what else may be going on. I, too, have attempted to keep the slide rail and the chain properly lubricated. Perhaps there is something else that needs some attention. I hope that someone has a corrective to this problem.

We have had this problem a few times. Our solution is to spray the underside of the slide with silicone spray. We use a Walmart supplied product called RV Dry Lubricant made by Liquid Wrench. We spray a whole can all over the underside of the side.
Hope this helps.
One must also lube the metal support arms on the underside of the slide. We use chassis lube. We carry a small grease gun for this purpose.
Finally, we use motorcycle chain lubricant on the chains that drive the slide screws.

Further information: The slide topper was just replaced at the factory. Also have scrupulously cleaned the slide rails per directions from the factory, and lubed them as recommended, using SuperLube. Chains links and drive wheels lubricated, again using SuperLube. Helped for a short time, and now things are worse than ever!

It sounds like the slide topper needs to be disconnected and the slideout operated to see if the problem is with the topper or slideout.

I hope this is the final report: I took Chaunclm's suggestion, and used a whole can of SuperLube on the underside of the slide, and it's working flawlessly now. As a side note, I had sprayed it several times before, but not so very heavily.
Thanks for all the input.
