Thoughts on Some Basic Equipment

As far as the poop hose goes, I really like the rhino flex hose. I've had several different ones and the rhino flex is by far my favorite. If you collapse it for storage, it stays collapsed, if you bend it to line up, it stays put. It makes it easier to me...

Toilet tissue never sees the inside of our black tank! We've taken to using small paper lunch bags and place them in a small waste disposal bin beside the toilet. The waste disposal bin has a swinging top and we simply drop the folded toilet tissue into the paper bag. The paper bag is changed out every 24-48 hours, and no, we don't notice a smell in the bathroom. One big benefit of doing business this way is that we can use better grades of toilet paper, not the one ply cheap stuff.

And, we've never had a problem with the tanks or the valves and hoses. Everything flows smoothly LOL, especially when we empty the black tank at 2/3 full. We too, use a 45 degree elbow and a hose to give her a good rinse. About every 3rd empty, we flush the tank using a manufacturer installed hose hook up that is located about half way up the tank.

My question about being stationary for 4 months... we're 2 months into 4 months of staying at a nice RV park in Mexico. I wonder about being stationary for a long period and by being so, not mixing the black tank by means of corners, bumps etc.No problems so far because we make sure the black tank is about 1/6 full with water after we empty and flush.

Has anyone used an enzyme like the ones that folks use in septic fields? Would it work, possibly too well?

The dominator is a great hose. We found out later that we needed a 90 degree elbow in order to mate the hose with the dump fitting in the rig.

I believe water pressure regulator was mentioned.

We use a brass wye. It comes in handy depending on campsite connection,

Tire pressure guage

A few tools and any test equipment...volt meter, catv tester, etc...

Induction pan if so equipped.

A few blocks in case site is too un level.

30 to 50A adapter as needed

Length of Cable if campground is equipped

We rounded up some stuff... but made a shopping trip while staying at pickup. Walmart had enough stuff to get us stocked up for travel.

DJ, I respect your opinion but for us, the TP goes down the hole. Period. End of discussion. Bagging it is Not going to happen.......

Over our many years of RVing the only time we've used RV paper was recently when we took delivery of our new Unity and the dealer gave us a six pack of RV paper. Rather than pack it around, we used it up and were glad to see the end of it I must say.
For years we have used whatever is on sale or, most often, Costco paper. We use a scoop of Happy Campers powder each time the tank is dumped and recharged. Also, as you have stated, never dump with less than 1/2 or 2/3 of a tank. I always run the black tank flush while dumping to make sure there is ample flow. On occasion I've had to top off the tank with the black tank flush before dumping to get over half full.
We don't have a poop paper baggie and we have NEVER had a problem with our holding tanks or the holding tank level gauges.
It's all about the water and the Happy Campers. I don't have any financial interest in HC I just know it works well and is the most cost effective product on the market that I'm aware of. Midtown RV in Penticton carry the stuff or on Amazon.

Totally agree with Dennis45. Who Ever came up with the idea of putting your feces-laden toilet paper anywhere but the septic system for safe and proper treatment? IT DOES NOT GO IN THE TRASH!

I looked back at the Viair site and remembered why I had selected the 400P-RV vs the 450P-RV. That wasn't a typo as I had thought. Viair recommends the 400P-RV for tires that are 40" and under because of the higher CFM even though it's not 100% continuous duty cycle. They apparently feel that the higher volume of air generated in a shorter time period precludes the need for the continuous duty cycle. And all my tires are less than 40". Also, the 400P-RV costs more than the 450P-RV. Another thing you can be working through is what you will do about a Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) if you do not already utilize one. I cannot imagine RV travel without the piece of mind that all my pressures remain good throughout the day. Once you incorporate one into your system you will wonder how you did without. I recommend the TST 507.

Thanks, Greg. Actually, I have made that move and chose the Pressure Pro system. It is installed temporarily on my f450 now and will be moved later. I have enough sensors for all truck tires and all trailer tires. I've already had the "nightmare" experience with multiple tire/wheel failure (China bombs) on a trip with a TT. Anything I can do to minimize the potential for that to happen again is a good thing.

You might want to consider the impact of having 12 tires to air up and not just tire diameter. We use a Viair system with a small tank and find it works well.
A compressor with less than 100% duty duty cycle may have stopping in the AM when your looking to leave. If I remember correctly there is a built in thermal overload for the compressor.
Also a 1/2" torque wrench is important both to have and critical for your pickup from NH.

I thought of that but has it been your experience that all 12 tires would need air at the same time? Actually, the continuous duty model is less money oddly enough so if it seems that is pretty important, then it will actually be a little cheaper. That's always a good thing with me........ And I presume the torque wrench (which I have) would be mostly for trailer lugs?

We check all our pressures every time we move. While every tire does not need air enough do and the pump runs continuously. Check the manual for the cool off time. If there was a 200 PSI option I'd consider it as well but only if I could keep the tank. Pressure pro s a great system. Is yours the fx version?

One there thing on the 400 version of the compressor. The specs say
Duty Cycle: 33% @ 100 PSI
Those big Goodyears will need 110-120 LBS depending on your weight.
