I have two questions; When traveling across country, do most RVers use Weather radios or ? If using radios witch one is most reliable . #2 witch break controller is best for fifth wheels and 3500 duramax. Trailer gvwr is 15250.

I just got today from a cross/around the country trip and did use a weather radio. It was nice to know what weather you were getting into and what to expect when you are there.

Here is a link to the radio I use, it uses AA batteries or a rechargeable battery pack that comes with it.

Midland HH54VP Weather alert radio#

I have a CB with weather channels---works great---do not use the CB but have it if necessary----use the weather channels fairly often depending on route.

My dash radio has a weather band. I also have a Radio Shack weather radio that has been discontinued but they have several models and most all of them are made by Midland. And.. I have the weather channels in my Amateur Radios. Use them all the time, but then I have chased storms for over 35 years!

I use a Midland myself, backed by some very high quality general coverage VHF receivers in case the signal is not good.

Another option is a smart phone using a weather alert app.
