Fridge Too Cold - Factory Setting Adjustable?
Our new to us 2015 Cougar 25RKS has a nice fridge, but it is the non-adjustable thermostat version. Model DM2852LBX. The owner's manual says the temperature is factory set, but we need to raise it a few degrees. Is there an internal or hidden adjustment point?

The thermistor is clipped to one of the fins to modulate temperature. Generally, moving the thermistor away from the center in either direction causes more cooling, closer to the center is less cooling. You can also move the thermistor to another fin, either closer or further from the actual cooling unit. That might give you the temperature you're shooting for, but it will take time to see how it behaves in each new location on the fins.

Dometic Fridge with Auto Temp Control uses a factory preset temp based on thermistor sensing of FIN temps.
FIN temp is ~10*F colder then air temp in the food compartment
Tip of the thermistor should just protrude out top of clip which is attached to FAR Right FIN in food compartment.
Sliding thermistor clip UP?DOWN on FIN will have minor temp affects (6*F - 8*F) in food compartment
Moving it UP.........COLDER Temps
Moving it DOWN...Warmer Temps
Typically there is a Decal on Sidewall indicating this

Good information. Thanks. Sometimes in very hot weather, our Dometic reefer doesn't cool as well as we would like; even with an internal fan.
Just another reason to check this great forum for topics that may apply to one's use

Thanks.
Our unit has the simple plastic clip, but it doesn't have a thermistor attached to it. All we have is the clip. No wires anywhere to be found.

That could be why it's too cold.

Thermistor could be hanging down in the bottom of food compartment
W/O thermistor..no fin temp feedback to thermostat so it cools continuously
Thermistor wires go thru back wall of fridge and plug into the P2 Connector on the Control Module Circuit Board (Outside compartment......WHITE Leads ---left side of board------dual pin connector ---P1 Connector is above and is a double row 6 pin connector)
LIMB MODE OPERATION:
In the event of a failure of a major operating component, the control system will continue to operate the cooling system.
rm2351, rm2451, rm2551, Dm2652 & Dm2852
If the control can not read the temperature sensor and control the preset temperature, the control will run the cooling unit continuously at the energy source available. The refrigerator will continue to operate in this mode indefinitely - or - until a new sensor is installed and the system reset.

Thanks for the info.
Moved some food around and found the white coated thermistor wire hanging down near the bottom of the fridge. I reattached it to the plastic clip which is on the far right fin. Let's hope that takes care of it. Thanks again for the great info.

On my dometic, only had 1 condesor fan, added a second, works awesome even in direct sunlight and 100 degrees in south texas, this is in a class c with fridge in the slide and side vent. It made a BIG difference

Having the top vent on the sidewall of the slide is a necessity for the design and placement of the fridge in the slide, but it is less efficient and yields poorer air flow. Adding a thermostatically controlled ventilation fan should be done at the factory because it really improves refrigerator efficiency.
