Side damage

Where would we go to get a 35" x 18" piece of aluminum to fix the damage on our 2007 Montana? The RV dealership near us says it would be over $1000 for them to fix it. That seems unbelievable. Am I being totally naive ? Could we fix it ourself? We checked everything about the damage - it is hollow behind the siding. Any input would help.

It doesn't take much to get to $1000. I'm not positive but its my understanding that the siding is installed from top to bottom unlike siding on a house. So if the damage is near the top it will require removing most of the whole side to replace it. It may be best to let them fix it. JMHO

You must be talking about the thin aluminum "skirting" running along the bottom of your 5vr. Only 35", seems a little steep for $1000. After a blow out... we had about 13 foot replace for $1300 and they replaced the plastic fenders on both sides (must have come in pairs)!
