Charlotte suggestions

Thinking of visiting Charlotte next month, looking for suggestions of campgrounds near the city if possible. Have done some looking and see folks say that there aren't any campgrounds near city. Most talk about driving 20-25 miles away.

Looking for suggestions

Charlotte

We stayed at Crown International Campground in Fort Mill, SC. It was very close to the area we were visiting, so that was good. The place is very strange. It is like a ghost town now. The campground is part of Jim and Tammy Fay Bakker's PTL Heritage USA complex. The sites are very tight and far from level. But we were fascinated with the whole complex. Most campers were long term. We were there a week and probably will not stay there again. We saw the KOA and it was located at a very busy intersection and looked full of travelers.

I have camped at Tom Johnson' s camp ground near the speedway. Not fancy, but not too far out.

We stayed at the KOA. It was clean in the regular camping area. The long term spots were "long term spots". The rest was nice and the people were friendly. Would go back.

We had no problems with traffic. We work from our RV.

Plan change but thanks...

Change in plan, heading to DC and will stay at the Cherry Hill campground.
