Thanksgiving Get Together

HelloCarolina Campers! Hope everyone is having a good summer.
There is a new RV Campground, Carolina Pines, opening in Conway, S.C. on July 1st. Location is on S.C. 90, 1 ½ miles south of Highway 22
We are wondering if there would be interest, in going there for our Thanksgiving get together.
There are pull through, back in sites and cottages. The park will have three restaurants, a tiki bar, Water Park, and outdoor pools.
Free shuttle service to beaches and shopping.
All RV sites are full hook up, have concrete patios, picnic tables, and fire rings. Pull through sites are full concrete, back in sites are gravel with the before mentioned concrete patio. Each site is for 6 people and one vehicle. Private golf carts are not allowed. However golf carts are available for rent at $50.00 per day.
Fall rates $57.00 per pull through, $55.00 for a back in. Rally rates would be less per site. They do not charge for a rally, and there are meeting rooms available. Made available at no cost. Reservations would be made individually under the Carolina Campers name. The number of reserved sites based on the amount of interest. The camp ground would set a cutoff date.
Additionally there is a catering service. The restaurant will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We would be happy to make all arrangements, if there is interest. If there are any other ideas, please comment.
Share these thoughts, especially:
1. Going to Carolina Pines
2. Which weekend. The weekend before or two weekends before Thanksgiving
3. Having the Restaurant cater the Thanksgiving dinner

We took a ride today to check out the campground. It looks like it will be nice for our Thanksgiving get together.

The RV Resort opened on July 1 as predicted. Phase one is the only section presently with campers. Amenities will come on line as the work is completed. July 15, is a big scheduled date for the water park and restaurant to open.
Speaking with our Events Manager, he tells us they have had very good reception to the facility and expect it to be very successful.
Based on the replies to our original post we have tentatively reserved 20 sites arriving Thursday November 14th leaving Monday the 18th. More to follow on this shortly. Do to the frenzy with the opening we will let it calm down and then get the rates etc. posted.
We really need to know the groups feeling on having a catered Ham and Turkey dinner on Saturday night, prepared by the Resort Restaurant, or do we continue the pot luck dinner we have had in the past. Please reply so we can get a count for dinner or the pot luck. Prices will be based on the number.
Remember the Resort has park models available for rent. If you have friends that would be interested in coming please advise them. We will talk to management about a rate and advise.

That is a weekend that I am off, so count us and the three stooges in. Dinner is either way, but more time to play.

THEN, I realized that we have already planned to go to James island in Charleston for the Festival of Lights the next week, but were not planning to arrive in Charleston until Sunday PM, so if SWMBO approves....

Thanksgiving Update

We have met with the Client Services Manager at Carolina Pines RV Resort. He tells us they have had very good reception to the facility and expect it to be very successful. The management is very interested in working with us to have a successful rally
Based on the replies to our original post we have tentatively reserved 20 sites at present time and that can be increased. Arriving Thursday November 14th leaving Monday the 18th. The rate for each site will be $50.00 per night. Plus tax. Full hook up. The area requested is mostly back in, the sites are angled, gravel base with concrete patio. Each site has picnic table and fire ring. The back in sites allow for a larger area in the back for meeting and gathering around a fire ring. We will furnish information for making reservations in the near future, PLEASE DO NOT CALL JUST YET.
Thursday night meet and greet cook out, at a site to be determined. You bring hot dogs, hamburgers (what ever) and favorite sides. Grills will be set up for cooking.
A room for gathering is available for our use on Friday and Saturday night. Hours are 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Gotcha games etc. Close to the Bistro for snacks and drinks. Price of the room included in the site fee.
Friday night can be pizza night if desired. Pizza is available in the Bistro which has a full menu.
Meeting with the Food and Beverage Manager for the facility we worked up a menu for Saturday night. Dinner will be served in the dining room. Choice of Turkey, or Ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry, iced tea, coffee. Desert pumpkin crisp or apple crisp. The cost for dinner is $18.78 each including tax and gratuity.
We must have a complete count for the dinner by November 4, 2019 for the Manager to order the required food. Let us know by that date your choice of Turkey or Ham.
There is a full bar adjacent to the dining room if you wish something stronger.
Weather permitting a shuttle will be available for any one that would like to go to the beach. The Resort has a beach house with pool, hot tub, in North Myrtle Beach.
The Resort has cottages available. Presently 1 or 2 bedroom is $109.00 per night. If you have friends that would be interested in coming let them know. Cottages will be adjacent to our RV sites.
Please confirm that you are planning to attend.

Rita and I plan to be there. We will do one for each since I can't have both. One ham and one turkey. Can't hardly wait.
