I spent the last few hours trying to help my father in law diagnose his slideout problem. The slides have been out for several years and they are trying to leave to Colorado...the big living/dining room slide quit 1/2 way in. We found the manual crank and got it back out. I've verified 12V source and relay switching 12V to the motor at the slide controller box, but here's the crazy part. How the heck do you get to the motor?? I've pulled panels taken things apart only to run into a structural beam or other blockage. At this point I actually think you have to get into the belly pan to get to the dang motor! I thought I must be overlooking a fuse somewhere, but I checked everywhere and then noticed the motor on the front leveling jacks has an inline fuse in the power wire, so yes now I guess I believe you actually have to get to the motor to see if a fuse is blown or the motor burned out.

Has anybody got a clue how to get to the motor? The manual crank shaft is accessible through a storage space on the passenger side under the fridge and to the rear. I'm sure the motor is just on the other side of where this crank is attached...I mean it has to be attached to the motor...you just cant get to it.

All I need is somebody that has a service manual to tell me how they access it. I appreciate any help.

Thanks!
Steve

Steve, welcome to iRV2.com and to the Travel Supreme Owner forum. We are glad to have you join us here and we are sure you will enjoy this website.
You are correct in that the motor is up above the belly pan but there is probably no fuse in line like the landing jacks. There will be a fuse or circuit breaker usually located in the front compartments. Follow the positive leads from the battery and you should be able to find them. You will probably want to lubricate the slideout mechanism before bringing it back in and be sure nothing is on the roof like a bird or squirrel nest. Good luck and let us know if we can be of further assistance.
