You gotta get back up on that horse and ride it. Figure out what caused the problems and fix if mechanical/electrical, if mistakes . . . don't repeat. You won't get the knowledge or experience you need unless you use it.

VERY likely you coach needs the X bracing or you will not be able to keep the windshield in. I am assuming (you do not say what model or size you have) here that you have something built on the Spartan K2 chassis. If so it needs the X bracing done asap. The bay doors sound like they just need to be adjusted. Likely they will stay closed until you can get them adjusted if you will close AND LOCK them whenever you are traveling. There are several places in the Elkhart area that can do the X bracing for you and the Entegra factory at Middlebury will also be glad to do it. All just my experience from having a 2007 Alante on a K2 chassis.

Wow, when it rains it pours. Good luck fixing everything. I woud recomend a shorter weekend trip to make sure things run smoothly before going for another long trip.

A new to you, but used coach takes awhile to work the bugs out - just like the airplanes you find at auctions. Make a list and then research/learn/fix one at a time. Look at it as a hobby. Sounds like you restore airplanes - I restored a Piper Clipper and Colt in my younger days as a hobby (rag and tube) and moved on to RVs to keep me busy, mobile, and out of trouble. This site is my main reference.

As identified above, some TS models experience flexing in the chassis causing the windshield issues. Based on the reports I have read, the additional X-bracing appears to be a solid fix. If the X-bracing is required, the flexing of the chassis may have contributed to the hatches not staying latched. If not, an adjustiment to the latching mechanism is a pretty simple task. Also, the more info you can supply upfront (ie: model, size, engine, chassis, etc) the more accurate a response you'll get. Good luck.

Another issue with the Travel Supreme 2005 45 ft. models is that the vertical bar that divides the windshield glass becomes loose at the top which allows the two (2) windshield halves to become unstable. This compounds the issue of windshields popping out of place and/or cracking.

Lisa and Ed,
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Like everyone has mentioned you need to get that x bracing done. I also had problems with the bay doors latching properly. I finally found that the catch that the latch locks on was flexing enough that the latches weren't hooking on the catch. I took them off and welded a small piece of metal angle to the catch and that stopped the problem. Just make sure you lock the bay doors before you head down the road that way they won't fly open.
Get these fixed and get on the road. There no doubt will be other issues that pop up but all and all these are good coaches. Good luck.

we have taken our travel supreme up to elkhart for Bishop to put xbrace in to fix windsheild problem, but after he looked at it, it already has the brace in so now he is putting a halo in it which is a steel brace, and this will fix the problem for once and for all
thanks for all your feed backs on this issue we had

Hang in there, these things happen and can be avoided with a little bit of planning.
1. Always adjust and lock your bay doors, I often have to adjust my bay doors during a trip as they sometimes get tweaked when you use the lifts. My old Monaco did the same thing. I have a 2009 TS 42'
2. The window is a huge problem and you need the xbracing under the windshield and in the body of the chasis. I am not sure how anyone can buy a TS and not know about the windsheild situation. The old owner should have fixed this and or you should have deducted about 10K off the price to allow for this repair.
3. Flat tires happen all the time but if you check the air pressure and rubber and look for nails prior to trips you will almost never have a flat.
4. Join a 24/7 roadside service to tow you or help you, its only about $200 per year but very valuable when you need them. I keep that number on the dash in the coach and on my Black Berry.
Fix the window the rest is easy, the coach is great but the windshield is a problem.

this one had the xbracing in it i took it to bishop and it is here and now they are taking the front off the coach and puting a complete steel brace around it , the brace didnt hold it, bishop states this will fix it completely, but we are ready for it to be fixed so we can get out there and go again, this is the way we love to travel
thank you for you advice and time to respond.
