One of us is confused, I freely admit that it could be me.
I believe that the switch powers the solenoid, not the other way around. So *I* think that the problem is between the battery and the switch.
I'm sure others will chime in to say whether I'm right or wrong.

The switch controls the solenoid/relay through an in-line 5 amp fuse. Is that fuse good? Normally located near the relay.

I can ck for voltage at the switch by the stairs and there is none. I can ck for voltage at the solenoid and there is not any voltage. So how is the switch at the stairs supplied with power.?

12v power on the right side of solenoid-and can jumper to the small red wire
terminal and get the solenoid to close and provide dc power to coach

Do not know which coach you have. I would check the solenoid on the back wall of basement below the invertor. I got tired of replacing this solenoid (smaller of the two) and bypassed it. Never used the switch by the front door anyway.
