Circuit breaker inverter

Below is a photo of my circuit breaker panel.
The 30 amp breaker on the far right is for my #2 inverter.

What does the red stripe in the window signify?

Is the inverter not working, not being used ,or is the breaker bad.

I never seem to draw off of the battery bank associated with inverter #2.

On mine when I see red the breaker has tripped. Cycle the switch off and back on to manually reset the breaker.

This might fix your inverter #2 battery buss usage problem.

Beats me. At first glance, it looks like a trip indication, but Square D QO-series breakers use a solid red block to indicate a tripped condition, AFAIK. I believe the counterfeits Square D has been fighting also use a solid red block. And the handle should be in a centered position when tripped.

Thanks

I knew the red line couldn't mean anything good.

Resetting the breaker does nothing. Normally when you do a reset on a tripped breaker and it trips immediately you feel or hear something.

This just feels like an ordinary reset. so I guess I either have a breaker problem,
or an up stream problem.

Just got off the phone with a Square D tech rep.

He agrees if breaker tripped it would be solid red and the switch down at mid position.

Apparently the thin red diagonal line indicates an internal breaker malfunction.

Next step is to dig into the panel and investigate. I'll post the results when done and or fixed.

Can someone clarify or confirm my understanding of the inverter breakers.

In the photo above #9 & #10 are for inverters 1 & 2.

It is my understanding that they take the 110 voltage "inverted" from the house batteries and distribute it to the 2 breaker boxes that further distribute it throughout the motor home.

Is that correct?

That 30A QO breaker is around $9 at Home Depot.

Well when all else fails use a volt meter and read the manual.

First off the 30 amp breakers are for AC in to the inverters.

I had 110 Volts in to the breakers and 110 volts out so clearly the breaker wasn't my functional issue.

It appears the "internal problem" in the breaker is just the way the color (red) band is functioning or not functioning.

Then I managed to get a manual for the Xantrex inverters and remote control panel.

Turns out that what I thought was just an indicator on the remote was actually a switch.

Also, clearly noted in the manual, "it may take several minutes after powering up before the remote indicators indicate actual battery levels and system status". As such, I was thinking I had under charged or drained batteries when in fact they were fully charged and quite healthy.

I should have realized this as my slides go in and out briskly which would not be the case if the batteries were drained and not charging.
