The ten year old rule has been the subject of many discusssions here. Use the search function of the forum and you will have an afternoon of reading available that covers personal experiences, opinions, and suggestions.
Before you give up on a coach you really like (and saving some $$$ to boot!) you might contact the CG's directly with pictures of the coach you're considering and ask for a ruling on that particular coach. You may find it's more of a "preventative" rule; ie, giving the CG a method to "police" the "undesirable" rigs and customers than a hard and fast "age" rule. Not saying it won't happen tomorrow, but I have yet to be turned away due to my coach's advanced age.
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
