Has anyone seen this type of valve before? considering installing a manual one on the line labeled hot, to see if it helps eliminate some of the hot air during the summer. The label just indicates hot in 4 different languages.

That's a standard 12V valve that is supposed to do what you want to do with a manual valve. I have plans to do the same if I can't clean up my OEM valve to function as designed. I like the KISS principle.

I too have read on this forum that they go bad and when you want cold air from your dash air that the defective valve won’t open and close properly as it was designed to do. To replace the defective valve would cost you ~ $150 and a ball valve cost less than $5.00 so I decided to go the cheap route like others have done and just install the ball valve which solved my issue of the air dash not getting cold. Now the dash air works perfectly as is very cold. You just have to remember to close the valve if you want cold air in the summer and open the valve in the winter for hot air.

...and you just have to be happy with pure cold air conditioning, without the ability to warm it just a bit on rainy days that aren't very hot.

I have developed the same issue with my 07 Select Limited....can you help me with the location of this valve and how to replace it? We have been travelling in sweltering heat for the past month and need some relief....thanks

If you follow upward from where I installed my ball valve you will see the Evans Tempcon valve that goes bad which I decided not to replace. I have also read on this forum that folks have purchased a new Tempcon valve and having it go bad again which is why I just replaced with the ball valve.

Bodean56, thanks, but I wasn't clear on my question....my wife says I need to use my words....is all of this located under the dashboard, in the generator compartment, engine compartment?....that is one system I havent looked for yet....thanks

IIRC, Dodge trucks had a manual valve, which, dependent upon your hose size, could be used in the place of a ball valve or the OE 12v or vacuum operated valve which was also used by some mfgs.

I have installed a manual heater hose shut off ( https://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/a...3-4-p-mei-2456 ) in both my '06 and '08. A good addition or bandaid if on the road, but should not be a "fix" to an underlying problem. Be carefull using a water ball valve as they have a nylon/plastic seal, which might not like temps over 200, which is not abnormal to experience at times.
I have also replaced both of my Evans Tempcon valves as well as the dash controller. This has fixed my problems. If you order the Evans valves, confirm weather you need the upgrade/adapter pigtail. Call Evans with your Serial # of the Evans unit found on the box above the generator. They will tell you part # and direct you to Confort Air to order the parts.
You will find the fuse panel for the Evans dash htr/ac behind the dash panel that has the radio, etc.
