Electrical help needed asap

On the road in a 2004 40FT 4slide TS. We were driving with generator running and both air conditioners on when we lost all 12V on the RV side. Checked all fuses in the rear closet. Replaced the solinoid below the inverter. Need advice quickly! Thank you in advance...

If not the salesman switch, I'd start at your batteries with a multi meter and work towards your converter

Have you traced to where the 12v stops? What solenoid did you replace? Start at the house batteries and check for 12v at each connection you can. Since it happened on the road with the generator running, check all fuses/breakers on your converter/charger.

Have you tried all the easy stuff?

Salesman switch - ON
Battery terminals - TIGHT & NOT CORRODED
All Batteries - CHARGED
Power to the solenoid beneath the inverter?
Do you get DC power when pressing the battery boost switch on the console?
Do propane and carbon monoxide detectors have power?

Sorry to be redundant if you have already done all this easy stuff.

If you are running an inverter/charger check the fuses/breakers in that.

The real place to start is to use a voltmeter to find out where the power stops...

GREAT!

Ya gotta love it when the easy stuff works!
One of these years I'll remember to check it first! I'm not there yet but getting closer.

With Kids in the Bus - Seems they all love that little RED button - Think it has happened to everyone at least Once.

Always start with the Salesman Switch ....

Glad it was easy,

Yup, been there too. Never used it, but kept getting inadvertently bumped, which deployed all the curtains.
Disconnected/removed "salesman" switch and installed a USB charging port and 12v power outlet in its place. Marinco and others have a all in one that fits nicely. Use 12v power to the switch for power source.
Nice to power/charge wife's phone, computer, gps, etc.
Worked so good, installed one for driver left of wheel and center where 12v outlet was.

Where is the salesman switch?

As a newbie can you give me more info on the salesman switch? Something else for me to be concerned about - but forewarned is fore-armed.

Mine is located to the left next to the step switch as you enter the Coach - Is RED so Easy to ID - It is supposed to turn off all the 12v parasitic electrical drains so the batts don't die. ......

I've always been plugged in so not sure if it really works - You've stirred my interest think I might need to check it out...

Hope this is of some help,

The salesman switch is slang for " Battery Disconnect " OR " Use / Store " switch, depending on the label they use.

It is for disconnecting your house battery from almost everything in the RV. Fridge, lights, water pump, heater.......

You should only switch it to Disconnect or to Store when not using the RV AND you are not plugged into some kind of shore power.

If you have an inverter ( makes 120 volts from batteries ), you will need to turn that off also when " storing " it with no power. Inverters are typically not controlled by the Salesman switch.

We full-time with 3 children in this rig... At least every other week the 3 year old wanders down in the step bay and starts hitting buttons giving us a momentary freak-out moment!
