Floor rotted out in Water Bay V.2

Hi there!

Wanted to revisit this old thread (2014 - THE OWNER'S CORNER FORUMS > Travel Supreme Owner's Forum > Floor rotted out in water bay). Sorry, could not get it to copy a direct link for some reason.

Short story, the floor is rotting out in the Water Bay all the way across to the Water Heater/Furnace access due to the poor wheel well design allowing rain water to get to the plywood via the framing. After running through rain for 2 days recently, found water leaking out of the moisture barrier material under the Hot Water heater and the entire water bay area was bone dry on the topside...confirming the source was the wheel wells!

Time for me to do the repair and the best alternative clearly seems to be the HDPE material. Several posted in the past that they and/or the shops have used 1/2" HDPE material for this, which is somewhat thinner than the original 3/4" plywood.

Have those of you with this repair had any issues with the 1/2" or should I consider the 3/4"? We live in Denver and have ready access to the materials, just want to be sure to do this once!

Thanks for your feedback

Curbell Plastics

We have a 2003 TS Select 41DS02 and replaced our's with Curbell Plastics

High Density Polyethylene Sheet (HDPE) 1.000" X 48" X 96"
Natural HDPE Sheet $327.00

https://www.curbellplastics.com/Disc...ons-Nationwide

The original floor was 1" plywood that we took out.

Going to also redo the wheel well area with heavy gauge aluminum sheeting and seal.

Good Luck
