Mine spills too. I attempt to remember to slow it down toward the end.

I had the same problem on my 2008 TS Alante. The design of the fuel fill tubes to either side is close to level. The problem is that when you fuel foam forms in the tank, if not properly vented it will burp back on you, even if you have the cap off on the other side.
The Solution: Check your vent hoses that run parallel to your fuel filler hoses. You can't miss them they are smaller diameter, if they have a low spot or sag, simply reach in between you tires and fender and raise the vent hose above the fuel tank for a few seconds to drain any fuel. Often when you fill your tank, fuel can enter the vent hoses and block off tank ventilation. I called Spartan Customer Service and spoke with Charlie informing him of the fix after they had no idea. He said they would make note of the fix.
Good luck.

Another thing to check is the vent hose being inserted to deep into the fuel cell. After a fill-up blow a little air through the vent hose watching the fuel level in the main filler hose. If the fuel level starts rising up in the filler tube there is a good chance the vent tube is submerged in the fuel cell. Don't use high pressure air or a lot of volume when doing this. You will really gush fuel out the filler hose onto anything in front of the filler if the vent hose is submerged. (Don't ask me how I know this!)
