fuel tank

I have a beginners question for a 2003 TS 41 Select. Is the fuel tank bay part of the heated area? We are leaving in a couple of days for Az and we live in the frigid northland. The bays are at +60. I have a foam wrap on the filter and some Howes in the fuel tank.

Not on my 06 Select.

Careful of all that equipment & those hoses out front...a guy bought a used TS in Florida, then drove it up through North Dakota in December. He ended up with some $erious damage to the hydraulic pump, and he was having high drama with frost on the windshield!

I am not aware of any rig with the fuel tank in a heated bay. Provided you are using winter fuel, or at least an anti-gel additive in the summer fuel, you should not have a problem. I would also recommend you use the block heater for at least three hours before a cold morning startup. There are many diesel vehicles running all winter long with no issues. Safe travels.

Thumbs up Winter diesel operation

I live in the great white north, we run diesel engines all year, the big thing is to put #1 diesel fuel in your tank in the late fall or early winter. Anti-gell is also a good thing to add to the fuel, I also recommend adding a product like "911" to take care of any water in your fuel system. If your unit has air brakes it is a good idea to manually drain the water in your air system. Moisture in the system will freeze your air brakes, if that happens you will not be going anywhere.
Good Luck hope this helps.
