G2000 Awning not closing evenly

Last weekend I accidentally left my passenger side front awning out in a brief, but apparently windy 5am rain storm. Although I would have put it in if aware wind or rain were approaching, I was also unaware that the wind sensor was disabled on my roof (found it lying on its side). After awakening the following morning, I inspected the awning. The awning appeared fine and appeared to shut tight in the front. It was 1 1/2 - 2" from shutting tight in the center and 1 1/2" from shutting tight in the rear. I read the manual and adjusted the "inner" motor set point. That helped cinch up the whole thing a 1/2". I also tried closing it farther manually which only resulted in the front of the awning cinching up tightly. I read the following post below and wondered if anyone had experience or insight with this approach to fix the problem, or if any better solutions could be suggested. I'm nowhere near a Girard dealer, so I am hoping I can repair this one on my own.

"...Sometimes the awning fabric will stretch and the awning will close on the end both not totally close in the center. or the problem can be reversed were it is tight in the center and loose on the ends. In this case, you need to build the roller tube up a little in the loose area with several layers of something like duct tape to make it close evenly."

This excerpt above seems to describe my problem well. I also included pics I took today of the awning fully closed. The first is of the rear of the awning and the second of the front. I appreciate the help!
