Not much help Old-Biscuit, but some us have been there, done that and it’s pretty simple. First remove the hot water heater cover and the stainless steel furnace cover (provided you have one of those), which are held on with the visible external screws and caulk. Then look at the bottom of the panel and you’ll see two sheet metal screws up into the basement frame. Remove the sheet metal screws the entire panel swings up on hinges, just like some of the basement doors. Remove the screws on the hinges and the door comes off (at least that’s how it works on my Envoy). Good luck.
