Headlights change out

My 2005 TS has the old Mack truck headlights which I would like to change to the new headlight setup, has anyone done this change over and is there an available kit out there?

What is the "new headlight setup" you refer to? Are you talking about the round lights that are installed in later models?

You can just change to an LED bulb and not have to change the headlight. I did and the cost of the bulbs were 69.00
It made all the difference in the world in night driving.

The TS after 2005 has the individual small round front lights which is a look I prefer. I have updated the existing Mack Truck headlights with LED bulbs which is a vast improvement for nighttime driving.
I have seen an article where a body shop has done a changeover with filling the gaps left by removal of the old headlights with fibreglass panels which looked like an expensive project, I was hoping for ďbolt in panelsĒ if they exist.

Here is one option.
03 Select

Another would be to contact Paul Conley (574-862-6779) in Indiana. He has completed this mod in the past.

Thanks everyone for your responses, it looks like there is no inexpensive way to do the changeover, Iím not really surprised. It looks like the old headlights will have to light up the nights highways.

This forum is a great way to learn things regarding our TS.
Thanks fellow TS owners.

I run LEDs in mine made a huge difference in light out output. They are easily 2x brighter than than the high beams but they have a sharp cut off line so they donít blind everyone coming towards you. Also replaced my driving lights with a higher output ballast and and more efficient xenon bulb.

LEDs came from
Headlightrevolution.com
Supernova V.4 LED headlights H11/H16 Bulbs

PART # HRH11V4

Hope that helps.

I have a 2006 TS with the 3 lights on each side.

Fiberglass is not that difficult to work and fabricate with. It is the finish and painting that is difficult.

Go on e bay and get a set of your current headlights

https://www.ebay.com/itm/TRAVEL-SUPR...MAAOSwd0BVrcvO

and also a set of the headlights you want.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/TRAVEL-SUPR...UAAOSw37tWAQp7

Then go to your local airport and find someone who has built or is building his own experimental aircraft and enlist his help in graft the new headlight into the old headlight frame for a bolt in replacement. He mat even be able to color match and paint for you.

If not a body shop an do the painting.

Still won't be cheap but will be a lot less than having an autobody shop do the entire project.

Alternatively if you are somewhat mechanically inclined you can get a couple of books about working with composites/fiberglass and do it yourself.

2001 With New front Headlights

SO long story but Kornel with TS Parts sourced this one with HID Headlights. Mine was struck by a tractor trailer while parked in a repair shop...Needless to say it needed a new front end. Took 11 Months for the repairs! Hope its worth it, find new questions every day and this forum is the best at getting answers to them!
