Horizontal Seam Sealing

Noticed this morning that a short strip of seam sealant on one of the external walls is coming loose. What do you guys suggest I use as a replacement. My plan is to cut out the loose sealant (caulk), clean up the area thoroughly, and reseal with a bead of ??? clear sealant. Looking for suggestions as to which sealant to use.

I used clear silicon a few years ago on one of my windows and when I replaced my docking lights and it still looks new. The key with silicon is to be sure you remove all the old stuff or it may not adhere well. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips, gents! Resealed several seams this morning with silicon. I sure don't have the knack for applying that stuff. Did better this time because I drilled a small hole in the end of the tube so I would only get a small line. Had to put down a couple lines in some places but at least I didn't get a huge line that looks really bad.

Lou, I think the mineral spirits and alcohol must have cleaned the surfaces nicely. I had a heck of a time getting a couple smears off the side of the coach!

I do give a lot of credit to the folks at TS that originally installed the seam sealant. They did a pretty nice job of getting an even and consistent flow. Glad it work out for you. It sounds you can add another check in the items completed list.
