Ignition switch

Need to replace on a 2006 TSS 45 - does anyone know if it is a standard G.M. part?

Thanks

If the switch is in dash , and a GM part , you have to disconnect the batteries and remove the key tumbler ( lock cylinder) before the retaining bezel can be removed.
If you're not sure about removing the tumbler, look for a U Tube video on 72 /77 GM P/U ignition switch removal.

The above site is the Spartan Chassis website. Check in the chassis electrical section for the ignition switch. Got the site from Todd Lahr, Spartan RV Parts tech. Good information for all Spartan parts.

ignition switch

Skip why would you have to disconnect batteries? Just pulling connector should not be an issue unless I am missing something? Got new switch and tumbler from Spartan.

thanks in advance

Buck

It's the old mechanic safety training ; disconnecting battery; was beaten into me as an apprentice .
Then when , automotive dash air bags were introduced , and a fellow mechanic in the shop blew the steering wheel air bag off well working on the console above the control module , it was re-enforced.
Very possible it's not necessary in your case , but , we all know this " Murphy " fellow don't we.
