TS wants you to have jacks retracted and air bags fully inflated prior to extending/retracting the slides. I know this is contrary to what seems natural but ever since I started using this procedure I have not had any problems with slides binding like I did when attempting to retract with jacks down.

Here is the procedure I was instructed to utilize:
EXTENDING SLIDES
1. Park coach
2. Turn off engine
3. Extend slides
4. Turn on jack power
5. Activate auto-level (dumps air bags)
6. Once jacks have stopped adjusting turn off jack power

RETRACTING SLIDES
1. Start engine
2. High idle until air system purges
3. Turn on jack power
4. Activate retract all (this also closes air bag valves so they can inflate)
5. Turn off jack power when all jacks are retracted
6. When air bags are fully inflated (system purges) turn off engine
7. Retract all slides

You need full air pressure prior to retracting the jacks to insure the air bag valves will be blown closed, allowing the air bags to inflate when you retract the jacks.

Mine is in the shed So I can't try it. I am pretty sure I can run the jacks with the slides out. I am almost positive it will not start with the slides out...this would not allow me to fill the air bags. The slides hanging up seems to have to do with flex or bowing of the frame. Taking pressure off the jacks makes a lot of sense.

I'm assuming RT41 no longer has a problem.

My jacks will extend/retract with slides in or out.
Jacks will retract with engine running. Have not tried to extend with engine running.
My engine will start with slides in/out.
Slides will NOT move with engine running.

Initially I really had a problem with running slides out prior to leveling with the jacks. After the kitchen slide jammed a couple times going out with the jacks down and went out smoothly with jacks retracted it became a lot easier to follow instructions!
