Onan 8.0 QD mysterious start

Had to take a few items out to the MH today at the storage lot and when we got there the generator was running. Best i can figure is that is had been running for 2-3 days based on hours. Coach was locked and nothing in the coach was disturbed. Nor was anything damaged or missing on the outside. Best guess is that an small animal tried to get up in the area and hit the outside start switch. (I do not have AGS) Worst case is that someone was jacking around with it and started the generator. In either case is there a way to disable the outside switch. Or would a small cover of some sort be a better option from the animals anyway. OR is there another reason the generator would spontaneously started?

Some inverters have an auto-start feature. When the batteries discharge to a certain point it starts the genset automatically, if that feature is enabled. Your inverter owners manual will identify that feature if present.
