I think Gene has summed up most points I have, but would add a couple of items. I did a tour of the factory in the summer of 2010 and was VERY impressed with their operations. Both the Jayco facility and this one are first class, neat and very efficient. The thing they kept mentioning is they could build more units, but were extremely concerned about quality, since this being the initial steps in a new product line, they wanted to do it right! They did hire most of the former Travel Supreme employees, including the little midget guy who works on the bay doors-he can do all this STANDING UP! No wear and tear on his back!
They've taken the TS model, improved it in certain areas, and the result is a first class build job. They market it as a product of the Bontrager family, as opposed to a Jayco product....good marketing, in my opinion. Precision Paint still does their coaches, using a high-end Sikkens paint as opposed to the S-W stuff formerly used.
TS closed their doors in the spring of 2008 and the plant in Wakarusa is now used to build Forest River towables.
Finally, they mentioned their intention was to build a service dept. campground there in Middlebury with pads located around a little lake. A far cry from the old days in the TS parking lot which most of us remember.
