Parker valve in 42 T/S
Has anyone had the rear of their coach settle down when they shut off the engine and you can hear the air leaking under the rear wheels? It is called the parker valve, I had it replaced only to have it leak again a couple weeks later. But, after travelling for the day and shutting down I noticed it wasn't leaking and hasn't since. Any ideas....

Make sure the linkage between frame and valve is clear of any wiring or lines that run in that area.

Thanks. Would you have any ideas on why my Magnum energy 2012 system with the 4 6Vs in line will cook the first battery on the the left front and not the other 3? All 4 batts were just replaced and that one is always dry and hot.

Several things could cause this. I would first look at the lug terminal to be sure it or they are not the culprit. Loose connections are what can cause a lot of heat. It could also be a bad battery ( bad cell). Even the way the order of cable connections are made to the bank can put more stress on one battery instead of distribution the load across the entire bank evenly. I would recommend doing a hydrometer test of all battery cells first. This will speak volumes as to condition of the bank. Take a picture of the bank and wiring and let me know what you find out. We will go from there.

Check and see if you have a separate tap off that battery for a 6 volt application. Newmar taps their's for MOOD lighting, so instead of 12 volts to light it runs 6 volts.

I have had the same problems with my 2004 mh. The valves are shifted by air pressure when the jacks are retracted, and if there is not pressure in tanks 1 and 2 over about 90 psig, the valves may not shift all of the way and air will leak out of the valve. This will cause the suspension to deflate after the engine is shut down. The symptom is the sound of air leaking. There are two valves on our coach, one between the rear wheels and one behind the front wheel on the curb side. I went to the Parker website and found the technical description for that valve. They say that the valve should be lubricated annually by a specific lubricant. I did this once about 4 years ago, and have not done it since. The critical thing seems to be making sure that the air pressure in tanks 1 and 2 are near full pressure before pushing the retract button on the Equalizer panel to retract the jacks. If there is a leak, I was told by Equalizer, that pushing the retract button a second time would send another pulse of air to the valves and that may shift the spool in the valve the rest of the way and the leak would stop.
I hope that this helps. I replaced 3 valves before I understood the system, and since then there has not been a problem.

thanks, I will get a hydrometer today and check the cells. I did take the "cooked" battery back to Interstate and got a new one and am monitoring the voltage today. Connections look clean but will redo them also. Will get back , thanks..

Parker valve: Thanks, makes sense. I had thought that is what happened at first and maybe it was, but it wouldn't shut off even after pushing the retract again and again. I havn't had the problem recently for some reason even after it did it as I started my trip south that one time. thanks for the reply...
