Service and updates for 2005 TS Envoy 38DS04

Hi all

I have seen the recommendations for Pauls RV in Indiana for Travel Supreme issues.
Is there anyone you would recommend in the Phoenix, Tucson, Quartzsite, Yuma area that has the same knowledge and does the same type work that Pauls does?

I need the bedroom slide adjusted (probably roller assembly needing repaired) , depending on time I may do this one myself.
I also need the furnace fixed, I can not contort my body to get to it. What a place for it.

We also need some cabinet and TV reconfiguration done.

We will be in Quartzsite for the 2019 RV show, any benefit of having the work done there?

As always - thanks for the help

Mike

Hi Mike,

I can't offer anything on a service center in AZ, but if you look closely at the furnace/water heater panel in the basement compartment you'll see it is hinged at the top like some of the other basement doors. To gain access you simply remove the furnace and water heater outer covers and then the two screws on the bottom of the door. The panel will then flip up on it's hinges. It doesn't have a strut so you will need to prop it open when working in there, but it provides great access so no body contortions required.

Even if you do not do this work yourself, at least you can provide this info to the service center so they do not spend an hour or two figuring out how to gain access into the compartment. Good luck.

Thanks Lou,

That gives me the option of at least trying to see what is wrong myself.

Off to study the furnace!!!

Thanks again Lou

Well Lou,
There was nothing wrong with the furnace, other than it was sitting at a very odd angle. The shelf it sits on had rotted away. The wet bay had been rebuilt, I should have thought about this bay.
The fix was pretty easy, new shelf and as soon as the furnace was level it fired right up.

I am going to hijack my own link and ask you another question. I tried to send it to you in a private message but for the life of me could not get the pic to attach.

This cord (circled in red)is located in the electric bay and is unplugged.

Any idea what this goes to?

As always Lou,
Thank you for your patience and all the help you have provided.

Mike,

Glad the furnace fix was an easy one. That cord is for the engine block heater. If you expect a really cold morning startup, just plug it into one of the 120 VAC receptacles above a few hours before you leave. So far I haven't needed it, but I think the coldest morning I ever started the engine was only about 35 deg F.

Is it possible the reel was removed by a previous owner? Any mounting holes?
