SHOCKS

Hi All
Want to get new shocks for my 2004-5 38DS04 Mountain Master 58,000 miles. Blisten or Koni ?
I don't see myself changing the settings on the Koni so should I just get Blisten?
Do you know part # and who to buy from with free shipping?
Thanks in advance
Glen

Glen,

I installed Koni (P/N 90 2815) and have been happy with my results.
I ordered mine through Spartan but there are probably cheaper places to get them.

Here's some "lite" reading material about shock replacement.

Koni has a new shock that is not adjustable, called EVO 99. I installed them on front a year ago and love the improved ride.

We had the Koni adjustables for 6 years previously, and liked them just fine.

The new ones are just that much better....super smooth, and they have tamed the large bounces we get with bridges, for example.

When I purchased, Ultra RV Products had the best price.

50K miles here with Koni's all around as Spartan suggested and shipped in 3 days. SW Florida Rv Serv. installed last week on site. Have not moved yet, but will head North in couple of weeks from FL. Bridge transitions in MS will be the proof. Report to follow.

April of 2017, we installed 10 new Bilstein Motorhome shocks on our Dynasty. I purchased the shocks on sale from Truck Spring of Saginaw.
I really liked working with this company and they gave me a great price at the time.
We have driven 20K miles and have had zero issues.
I know that the Koni shocks would be fabulous, but they were price prohibitive for us at the time (over $800 more).

If funds were no object, I would drive straight to Source Engineering in Oregon and ask Jim to install his super-awesome custom shocks on our rig.
FWIW, the 24-187312 Bilsteins have been fine, and far better than the OEM shocks that came on the Dynasty.

i installed Konis
they work well (the coach still had original shocks so anything would help)
but dont forget on the spartan K2 you need an adapter (at least I did on mine)

Roamer,

We have pretty much the same coach (mine is '06 TSS 45dl) Do you have the part numbers on your new shocks? I have original shocks on this coach and need to replace. Like to stay with Spartan recommendation.

New shocks big improvement in ride and handling. Well worth the upgrade to Konis.
texasrs, I would suggest you call spartan parts (have your serial #) and they will give you the part #'s you need for your chassis. Could be difference between years. Mine is an '08 K3 chassis, I suspect yours is a K2, best to get the right ones.

Just returned from Spartan. Had Bilsteins installed on drive and tag. Konis on front axle. Can't believe the difference in drivability. Only 30.000 on originals but definitely needed replacement.
