Shower door roller quick fix
It seems that those that have the curved door shower enclosure are having problems with the nylon/bearing rollers on the curved sliding shower doors and finding a source for same. Well so far I have not found one as these special flexible roller assemblies are non exsitant, so I came up with a simple fix...not sure how long it will last, but give it a try if your nylon tire on the bearing is gone or broken.
Do this one at a time. Remove the plastic hole cover that hides the adjusting roller screw. Remove the brass cap nut to release the axle and roller assy. Do not loose the brass nut inside the door chanel. When you retrieve the roller assy., and your nylon tire is missing or broken, remove the broken section from the bearing and any pieces in the track, and you will notice a groove in the bearing wheel...well an #R10 "O" ring fits nicely over the wheel (giving approximately the same diameter), locks in nicely in the groove (use a bit of adhesive to be sure), and provides a nice tire to ride the channel. A slight bit tight but does allow the bearing to rotate. Try not to roll the "O" ring over the bearing as it will twist and cause rolloff. Time will tell if this is a true fix, but for now it works and I can get new "tires" for one thin dime at any hardware store.

Forgot to mention to clean the bearing and track of all grease, as mine had some residue before applying this fix. A good cleaning of the track will keep the "O" ring from sliding in the previosly applied grease to the bearing that migrated to the track.
The fix surely is better than the metal bearing and axle riding on/in the aluminum track causing wear and eventually complete failure of the track.
Proven fix will be in the field testing as with a clean track system without the soap scum, hard water build up, hair, etc. in the track system it seems to be working fine, just keep it clean.
Still looking for better fix.

I removed my broken shower door roller and went to Home Depot. I found a roller in the shower door parts section that was a nylon wheel only larger in diameter. I put a grinding wheel on my Dremel and reduced the size so it would fit into the track. Cost a few dollars and about 10 minutes on the Dremel.

I did that too, but felt the flex pivot of the stock roller assy. made the door slide easier. What one needs is the 3/4" shower roller that all home bld. suppiers stock. Lowes has them as well as Menards. Buy the oval ones as you will be grinding off and making it flat...less to grind on the oval shaped wheels and shape gives one a margin to grind too if using the dremel method. I did one by chucking the roller bearing in my drill press tight against the chuck, to prevent turning and using a plastic file as one would use on formica, corian, etc. Seems to me it was about 1mm to come off.
Have not gone back to that project as had too many others, but will look at again for a more permenent fix and still use the flex feature.

Roamer, I think I found the part you are referring to. It's on a multi-color green card, entitled "Tub and Shower" replacement hardware-roller is 1/4 in. wide by 3/4 in. diameter. Part #: M-6000 While I tink I can find a way to reim off the excess diameter, do you have any trick to re-establish the offset from the shower door? Looks like a 1/2 in. offset is needed. Maybe a small piece of threaded rod with some washers and/or lock nuts?

Slabman: It seems these doors need this offset and I have been working on the boats all fall and will get back to the shower issue in the next week. My quick fix was only that and true replacements are best. As to the offset, I need to get back in that mind set...ugh ...
best would be IMHO would be a piece of aluminum rod (won't rust and easier to cut thread than stainless for most) cut to offset with roller threads into one end and attachment screw threads in other end. Better off with a stainless allen screw to replace the slotted brass that was OEM.
From what I understand replacement parts for the doors are rare as the Co is OoBis. Other than someone with a mill/lathe, we are probably SOL on finding the parts other than suggested here.
Let us all know what you come up with as I will and hope others add to this too.
Off to Naples around 12/10 (+/ -).

Roamer, I couldn't find an R-10 but elected to try a 1/2x3/4x1/8 O-Ring just for grins. While it fits nicely over the roller and has a great look like a new set of Michelins and the width is fine, the diameter is about 20mm instead of 18mm, which is what the oem "tire" measures. Rats!
Can I assume the R-10 "tire" will have a lower profile and come in at 18mm? I guess that's what you were indicating, but wanted to make sure. There sure isn't much leeway in the shower track for different-sized "tires".
