Tire replacement update

Just an FYI.

Went to a local Michelin dealer to purchase replacement tires for my 40' DS02. The tires are monsters, 295/80 22.5. I recently got a retail quote of over $6,000 for 6 tires. Joined the FMCA and through the Advantage Program was quoted $4,800. Prices included on the wheel extras. BTW, The replacements are XZA2 ENERGY, however Michelin is now producing less of these tires so are back ordered for 1-2 months. The replacement is made with a new technology and should operate better and last longer according to the tire dealer. The new tires are X COACH HL Z.

They should be in the 2nd week of April and hopefully installed for Spring. I'll post about this again after a ride or two.

Looks like they've raised prices significantly. I bought 6 of those same tires in 2011 for $4050, out the door....NOT using the FMCA program. Heard a recent FMCA quote of $580 per on some 315/80's, but for some reason rhey are always less.
