That is odd. I'd start by measuring the voltage and see if it changes as you vary the speed. I wouldn't expect it to change above/below 50 mph, but it's a starting point. Good luck.

I agree: that's a new one. The only thing I can think of is that it's not slowing down, the sound is changing, the sound is changing because the unit is defaulting to DEFROST instead of heat or vent (AC uses vent) this is due to low vacuum caused by a vacuum leak.

All the dash systems are powered by the DC Inverters and the coach batteries, not the chassis battery. The chassis battery only supplies power to the Spartan chassis and the dash guages. My guess is the coach batteries are in need of repalcement and the set that runs the dash drop in voltage. I had a problem once with the Onan that wouls not work. On a trip to bet home the coach batterise went dead and all the dash electronics quit or slowed down like the AC and blowers. I had to stop and plug in the unit to charge the batteries. Later the batteries would only stay charged on the road for about an hour of travel. I would start the Gen-set to run and charge the batteries. I replaced the batteries that were only about 2 years old with some new Trojan Hi capacity batteries and now get 5-6 hours on the road. Dave W
