Hi everyone,
I have a water spigot next to the sink that I assume either comes from a filter or a reverse osmosis system. Any ideas where the filter or RO is located at?
Thanks
Jim

Jim, Look under the sink (up high) for some type of filter holder. I have one on my rig but I don't use it and I turned it off. Typically the filter base will use a cartridge type filter that has a bayonet mount. There's a small lever that has to be thrown and that's it.

No R. O. System, but you can put one in. The filter is likely inside the RH, rear-most basement door before the tanks, mounted to the bulkhead. A std. Domestic refer filter is used to replace it. You can install an R. O. System, tied into this filter.

Great - thanks for the info. I originally looked up under the sink as driver suggested, I'll check the basement.
I like ROs after having one in my house, just hate how much water they waste. I'll keep the filter changed, and hopefully that will keep the wifely sort happy.

This is the system I installed. It's easy to run some 1/4 in. poly tubing from that filter into this system, then back to the filter. I installed their final filter in the bracket that holds the stock refer filter TS uses. The discharge water is dumped into the gray water tank via a 3/8 in. line. Alternatively, I can dump it onto the ground if I'm concerned with filling the gray tank, which I've never been. The bladder tank is mounted between the frame rails, just under the subfloor. My water is discharged through the referigerator door, since I don't have a spigot at the sink. Also, it gives me great ice!
I also installed a whole-house combo sediment/carbon filter before the fresh water tank. I figure this filter takes out the big blocks in the water before it enters the tank or R.O. system.

My rig was not factory equipped with any water filters (entry level Envoy model), so I added both a residential whole house filter between the hose reel and the inlet fitting and a small charcoal refrigerator filter for the ice maker/sink spigot. I installed them both in the basement water compartment so they are easy to change.

Did you guys see problems with your water before, or did you strictly do it for taste (or lack thereof)?

Do the best filter you want to afford. When traveling and using water without testing, you never know what you will get. Many parks are on the outskirts of towns or in older parts of towns. Could mean you are at the end of the old pipe and the dregs of everyone ahead of you is looking your way. Get filtered you won't regret it.

Egads, I hadn't thought of it that way! We usually use a Brita water pitcher for drinking water, but I really like the 'whole house filter' idea.

Jim, if you really want to get cute, install a small water softener as well. The wife really likes the reduced spotting on the shower stall and we don't get the mineral buildup in the faucets as well. And clothes wash better with soft water. Not hard to do if you design it right.
As for the R. O. water...nothing tastes better than R. O. water....NOTHING!

We have one whole house filter in the wet bay, and another for the ice maker. The whole house filter I just use a sediment filter, the ice maker has a taste and pathogen filter. Then I put a drinking spigot in at the galley sink. It also has a good combination filter behind a removable panel under the sink. I don't use a charcoal filter in the whole house filter as I want the chlorinated water in my tank to prevent water borne pathogens.

Oh nothing good can come of this conversation! It's a good thing that the wifely sort doesn't read these forums or I'd be out shopping for one today!

We are part timers and I am thinking of installing an R.O. System in the rig like we have at our house. It would only be for the ice and drinking water. I agree, nothing makes better tea than R.O. Water! We have bee bringing 6-8 gallons of home R.O. Water from home and then buy more on the road. But I would like some advice and/or comments, particularly if it is a problem that we are not using the system full time.
P.S. some wifely sorts do read the forums......
