Water in fuel warning light

We have a 2003 TS DS02 40' coach with Spartan MM Chassis and 400 Cummins ISL. Recently driving and the water in fuel light flashed on and off quickly. Never happened before. Is it easy for an owner to drain? If so where would I find it?

Locate the filter - should be right there in the back - turn the petcok - drain water into a cup - if all else fails purchase and install new filter, fill with fuel and install.

When that happened to us with our last diesel pusher, we called Spartan. They did a check and found that there was no water in fuel sensor with the engine. They said the wiring was laying in a frame somewhere, and probably shorting out.

Fuel in water alarm

We get the same alarm when we run through rain/wet road. I haven't chased it out on ours but think the Spartan comment about a bare wire along the frame or a bad connector at the sensor that is exposing the wiring. Ours stays on until the road dries out or the rig has sat overnight.
