I have recently purchased a 2005 travel Supreme DS38-03 and turned on the wipers for the first time. I believe I have the wrong wiper blades length because the blades go past the windshield lower seal by 3-4 inches. What is the proper length of the wiper blade?

Before thinking that it's the length of the blade, consider that a blade longer or shorter will still sweep the same area, so check where the wipers stop on the other end of their sweep.

If you have plenty of windshield left on that sweep, then remove the retaining nut, pry the wiper blade off the splines, and re-position the arm. My guess is that most full-sweep arms are positions dead level while at rest. If your TS has a divided windshield, then they should stop "almost" touching the middle bracket.

New to this forum

Just bought a 2008 Insignia. Previous MH was a Canadian made Triple E Empress DP and before that a 96 Discovery.

Looking forward to learning lots about these rigs. This will be our full time unit in a couple of years. In the meantime, we will be using it most weekends, for vacations, etc.

Right now I am having a Hydralift motorcycle lift installed to haul my bagger and we will be towing our Jeep Wrangler.

Exclamation Leveling Jacks

I'm brand new to this forum. In fact, I'm not even "wet behind the ears" yet since I haven't actually bought my TS. I am considering an '05 40DS04 but upon returning from test driving it yesterday, the automatic leveling system would not function properly. After several attempts the salesman rounded up a technician who proceeded to tell me that the electronic brain needed to be "reset".
Has anyone had this problem? Does this sound right??

Does this coach have the Equalizer Systems hydraulic jacks? If so I have a troubleshooting guide I can send you.
It's very possible the mechanic meant the system null needed to be reset. Did the system work properly after he adjusted the null point? If it did I would not be concerned.

Not 100% sure about the equalizer system because I am new to this whole "motorhome" thing. The key pad had lights for each jack position and it seemed to keep lighting up different jacks but eventually it would "time out" and the auto leveling button would just turn red. At tha point I would get out and look to find one or three jacks down and one about a foot off the ground.
As for if the system is working properly now, it was the COB and I left. Didn't go back today nor have I talked with the salesman.
I was just wondering if this is routine issue (it happens occasionally but a reset fixes it) or if its so unusual that I should be concerned about purchasing the rig.

Sounds like what some manufacturers call needing the "zero point" reset. Find out what the brand of leveling system it has and pull up that manufacturers website and download the manual. In it will have the reset procedure. Ask the dealer to have the service department to get the issue resolved and give you a call back when it is done. Then go down and check it out. Get an inspection done on the entire coach and based on that inspection make up your mind. If you decide to purchase the unit, insist on new batteries, tires if more than a few years old and systems to be functioning at time of delivery. Good luck and keep us posted.

If it does have the Equalizer system I have a little experience. Dang little. Went with a friend to buy his 2008 and the "experts" didn't know squat! After they fiddled with it a while I got in the seat and patiently went through the sequence and jacks worked fine. After getting it home my friend continued to have issues. I went over and showed him how to patiently work the system and not merely punch buttons repeatedly. His jacks work fine. On this coach since you haven't bought it I'd recommend they be the folks to "fix it". However, they can manually level the coach then "set" or "program" the setting in and it may work. Can't say. However, a lot of times people look for the most complex answer when it's a simple fix. Not always. Also, you can Google the manual and download to learn the proper operation. This is true on several of the components on the coach. I have the Equalizer on my 2006 TS and it has always worked good. JMHO.

Hi - I'm fairly new to the TS family myself - have a 2002 TS 40DS that I bought in March of last year. Depending on how it was treated, it is an excellent motorhome with top notch mechanics. As for the leveling system, in one of the manuals there is a description of how to null the leveling system (any time there is no power - like when the batteries all have to be disconnected for welding etc ...) BUT ... on the advice of the previous owners I don't use auto leveling. I manually put each jack down to touch the ground, then use a spirit level to adjust side to side, then fore and aft (bubble wants to go to the high side so if it's showing you low on the left, put down the left jacks until the bubble centers, etc ...) It is actually faster than waiting for the auto leveler to go through all it's machinations anyway. I wouldn't let that break your deal.

Wow! Good information here. Thanks for the help.
Sounds like this could possibly be just a legit "reset" problem. I didn't want someone to pull the wool over my eyes, and I know I don't know enough to prevent it.
Going to email the salesman tonight, ask him if the service department has resolved the issue, and tell him to call me when it's done.
Thanks again everyone.

Also, if I go back over there, I will take a picture of the equalizer system to post on here with the resolution.
And I will also make sure I move the coach to a nice UN-level spot and test the system out!
I may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night!
