1 year Update

Have had the coach for a year now with 11,000 miles on it. Just took it to Spartan to have the first yearly maintenance done. While I know that you pay a bit more to have work done at Spartan, I believe it is worth it. More on that later

Last year, we attended Spartan Academy and had the 4 corner weights done, an alignment (paid for by Entegra), a their 44 point checkup. We deliberated on changing the shocks to Koni but decided to see how the coach performed with lower tire pressures, adjusted ride height, and the alignment. A year later and 8,000 more miles, have decided to keep the Bilsteins. I understand that a lot of people rave about the Koni shocks, however, I am pretty happy with the current ride.

About 3 months ago I had a front PS side outer wheel axle seal "replaced" by Lazy Days. The was a slow leak that showed up on the wheel after every long run. It was a warranty repair. When I got to Spartan, the problem seemed to be reoccurring. The Spartan tech discovered tha LD had NOT replaced the seal. Instead, the took it off, applied silicone sealer to the back and reinstalled it! In addition, they did not torque the cover bolts correctly virtually guaranteeing an eventually leak. This has pretty much eliminated LD from future chassis service work as far as I a concerned.

Spartan also did a 4 corner weight again and adjusted the ride height a bit to try to help with the extra weight that seems to be on the right front wheel. They also did a change on the tag axle fill plugs to a new updated plug. When the coach was brought back to me, the tech spent nearly 30 minutes with going over what was done, answering every one of my questions.

I have driven about 600 miles since the service and could not be happier. No leaks, no drips, no errors. Ride is great and my confidence in the work that was done properly. Did I spend a couple bucks more? You bet. But, at least for me, it was worth it.

Great report. After seeing that, I am going to schedule at Spartan when we schedule our PDI next spring. After finally have a few miles on mine, I can see where a few tweaks are needed and would be welcomed.

And when you call Spartan with your VIN a tech call pullup build sheets and e-mail them to you. They will spend time with you and answer all your questions. I talked to them today and solved a throttle return spring issue. Great company.
