‘14 Anthem Clearance Lights

Attempting to replace two front cap upper clearance lights. Are they plug in or do you cut an splice the black and white wires? Haven’t been able to pull enough wire out to locate plugin.

‘14 Anthem Clearance Lights

Chuck,
You posted this link a number of years ago. Will this work for both the amber upper front cap clearance lights and the red rear side marker lights?

Peter, I just pulled my link up and they showed as out of stock on the red ones until 9/3. The amber are in stock. They are the ones for clearance. I think I add the plugs for the side markers. There was a link for those in the post. One thing nice, the price dropped $1.00 each. https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...ctor/599/1834/

Still working on mine. Three years now. Got the front and side lights done, thinking about the rear. Working on a ladder not my strong suite. I can't believe the way they put this things in with big gobs of silicone which makes removing the old ones very hard and putting on the new ones a mess. What were they thinking?

They were thinking water getting past the light fixture can be bad for the coach...especially up front. Silicone has to cover even the screw heads because water can get in past them.

A tip on the one inch hole where the wires go through. There is a rubber plug in that hole with the wire in the center. Do NOT remove it, getting silicone back in that hole is impossible to seal. Instead take a sharp pen knife and cut a square around the wires then pull them out. Resealing the small square hole is much easier.

Actually I tried that. It depends on how big of a plug they made. The person that did mine that day was very generous. I ended up cutting the plug into quarters and pulling it out in pieces. Once the plug is removed you can pull out as much wire as you need without stressing it. I used clear silicone to re-install putting a good amount on the back side of the light where to hole would be making sure the edges of the hole would be covered. I also put the clear silicone in the screw holes. Once the light was screwed down I caulked around the light with DAP dark brown silicone.

Now they had to know there would be a possibility that these lights would have to be replaced at some point. A rubber grommet with a smaller amount of silicone would have been much easier to deal with and less of a risk of damage to the fiberglass. Of course they could have used a better grade of light also. Just saying.
