2 More Shade Motors Bit The Dust!

We have been lucky, lost 2 shade motors in our first 2 months then no more until this week.

The toll night shade wouldn't respond when we parked at storage. The long, slender night shade went about halfway down when we brought it home a couple days ago, hasn't moved since.

Toll shade is simple to replace (notice I said "simple", not "easy"). The long, slender shade is in the window just aft of the salon TV in our DEQ. Looks like I will have to remove the entire wooden valance to get at it. Can anyone offer advice from experience replacing a motor on this window?

Correct, you have to remove the valence. Two screws each side.

That sounds simple enough.

Thanks!

PJ at CS says you do not have to return the old shade motors, but he did ask me to take a picture of the defective ones I replaced and send to him, I am assuming this gets Entegra reimbursed.

Yes, all they need are pictures of the replaced motor. If it has a serial number, they want that on the picture. I am now waiting for my tenth motor to arrive so I can replace it. Have to say, I am getting fairly fast at replacing those things. So far, none of the replaced ones have failed.

After the warranty period expires -- I assume the motors will be at the expense of the owner...

Anyone have a estimated cost for one?

Curt

Our slender window shade in our DEQ is starting to " act up". It would not retract back up one morning.. making the room very dim during daylight hours. The last day, it decided to work along with the rest. This was the white nightshade, by the way. Hope the mitor is not going...

I am assuming the same thing. I have not heard what the price is. Maybe we should all get together and buy a box car load of them.

Hey Bill and Curt - I'll pitch in on the box car load. And yes, after warranty expires it is our nickel. We hit 2 years in July, and just had 2 shades quit this month. PJ gave me a part number Friday - 0713749 - but I have not had a chance to call a dealer yet.

Better start looking for the boxcar.

I'm predicting some switches to the old manually operated shades at that price!
