2013 Anthem Slide Malfunction . . CampingWorld of F'Burg, VA, Worldclass C/Service!

Hello Everyone,

- We experienced a major problem with our driver's side front slide on our 2013 Anthem 44 DLQ Sunday. The slide would not retract and made awful loud popping and banging noises when attempting to retract the slide. We had never experienced any challenges with any of our slides since we purchased the coach new in 2012. We contacted CoachNet which dispatched a mobile technician to our resort site. After perhaps an hour of troubleshooting the CoachNet technician was unable to resolve the situation.

- We then drove to CampingWorld of Fredericksburg, VA, which is located approximately 25 miles from our resort. We spoke to the General Manager about our situation. The General Manager contacted the Service Manager who was off yesterday. The Service Manager asked several questions, believed his guys could get the slide retracted, and coordinated for his guys to visit our resort today, Monday, to address the situation. The CampingWorld technicians arrived at our location today and were able to get the slide retracted. Their initial diagnosis is that the slide "gearbox" had failed. I brought the coach to the CampingWorld service department and it is now there for further diagnosis and repair.

- DW and I are very thankful that the CampingWorld technicians were able to get the slide retracted as we were scheduled to move from the resort spot to another yesterday. The resort worked with us to relocate the scheduled incoming unit to another location on the resort.

- We are very pleased with the CampingWorld of Fredericksburg, VA, world-class service!

We will inform everyone of the progress as others might experience a similar situation

If that's the Camping World that used to be Safford RV I always had good experiences with them. I bought 2 previous Class As from them and they handled all my warranty and service needs. Glad to hear the sale to Camping World didn't kill that level of customer service.

Hello Ageishecker, yes that is the CampingWorld that used to be Safford RV. Safford RV was apparently sold to CampingWorld in March. We used Safford RV for work on our previous 2002 Monaco Diplomat for years; however, we are using a different service provider for our Anthem. We are very pleased with the world-class customer service CampingWorld provided us during this unexpected situation.

Update: CampingWorld of Fredericksburg, VA, replaced our slide gearbox and the slide now functions as it should. We returned from an extended vacation and the new gearbox had been received and the repair was completed. We are very pleased with the service we received from the General Manager, the Service Manager, and the CampingWorld of Fredericksburg, VA, team.
