Call Entegra back and get a recommendation for a local A/H Service Tech/Facility that could look at the Unit for you, other Owners do their own service, but if issues beyond your capabilities arise you will now pay someone to 1st, fix your attempt, and 2nd, to actually do the Service.

If you are DIY there is the annul service instructions are on Aqua Hots web site. The filter is a WIX 33109 or NAPA 3109. The fuel nozzle is $15. Or $200. for any aqua hot mobile repair service to do the service for you.

There is an outfit in Waukegan that is cerrtified for Aqua-Hot. Meyers Auto Body, Dan Meyers is his name. 847-401-6577

He did the full service on mine including installing the upgraded pumps on mine. Did a great job.

Yes..its strange its an auto body shop, but he works on a lot of high end coach's on a variety of different things.

Its a simple job to do yourself, BUT because you say you are having problems with it and you say that it hasnt been serviced in quite a while, then you really need to go to someone who knows what they are doing. Routine annual service can almost be done with your eyes closed, BUT, that ignores 5 or 6 major things that could be making your system produce a lot of soot, and if it is already producing a lot of soot, you need someone to really clean out the combustion chamber and look for cracks and problem.... they are fairly common.

The problem is finding someone really competent. You can become AquaHot "Certified" by paying $100 and attending a one day seminar. That does not mean a whole lot IMO. You need certification plus a whole lot of experience and additional equipment. They sell control boxes and analysis kits for someone who is really going to sell this service competently.... so make sure whoever does it has a lot of experience. I got my coach serviced on the road one time by a guy who had taken the class, but I was his first customer..... so he and I worked on it together. I had tools he needed, and he needed to go to a Lowes to buy other tools that both of us needed..... so I warn you from experience.... a certificate does not mean much.

If you decide to do it yourself..... there are several services on the web that are only hydronic heating systems and several of them are life-long service techs.... One is Roger Burke, and one is ???? Carillo. My guy just services and is based in Arkansas but he is REALLY good..... Lloyd DeGerald. You can find him and the others at any large FMCA rally.

X2 on Darin, outstanding, but hurry he leaves for FL soon and will be at many of the larger parks servicing snowbird coaches.

I just did mine today. Simple as pie.

It was also 65F, sunny, and I was under no stress.

My suggestion to you my Chicagoan friend is to find a tech locally and pay to have it done.

I won’t push past 12 months, regardless of use. Frankly, I’m surprised you’ve made it this far before you’ve had issues.

The Aquahot is a piece of equipment that follows the adage of, “If you don’t use it, you’ll lose it.”

Good luck,

-Matt

Here is kind of a clutsy video showing the steps to serving the aqua hot. He takes 30 minutes to say what take 10 minutes to do, but the idea is there. Probably other better videos but this is an example of what available.

That is a old unit on the video. Entegra's are easy to do but look nothing like that. Next time I service one I will try and make a video of it. If anyone wants to email me I can talk you through it.
