I do not think the reason for not going to the induction cooktop was so the customer would not have to buy new cookware. I am thinking it is possibly due to a commitment to the supplier of the standard cooktop, at least that what was alluded to when I asked.

Good luck with a great new rig! You will love it, as we do, I'm sure!

Putting an electric cooktop in instead of induction just sucks...
Anyone that has ever cooked on a good induction cooktop for any period of time will never go back to plain electric or even gas.
I hope mine comes with the induction to save me retrofitting it later.

BTW; the only requirements for induction compatible cookware is that you could stick a magnet to it. Any steel, coated or not, or cast iron pots and pans will work. Aluminum does not work.

I was hoping for induction as well but I don't think it will be there.

Hey! We have his twin with our crew. Causes more trouble than the other three combined! And yep, we can definitely confirm that they are mighty attack dogs. Ask any squirrel at our S&B.

The induction cooktop was to me a high value addition to the Anthem. I really want an Anthem - diesel Aqua-hot, induction cooking, and no propane. Unfortunately, the extra $60 thousand puts it out of my reach. I have no desire for a regular electric range. The Anthem without induction just seems like a collection of parts rather than the coherent theme of an advanced, all-electric coach.

What a fantastic and informative write-up. We are getting ready to do the same thing and you walked through every point I've been stressing about. Thank you and congratulations!

We have 3 traveling cats with us and they stay away from the range with the gas (propane) flame. Not sure if they would know if the electric top or induction top was on and could hurt them. They may not be aware that curiosity can kill them. deSanford

Induction will not heat up until a pan is on the burner

An induction burner doesn't get hot. Because it works using magnetics, the pot/pan becomes hot to heat the food. The burner will only get hot if the heated pot has been on awhile. One can turn an induction burner on hi, and put your hand on it all day long. Just don't don't have a magnetic ring on!

I am having an induction stove installed in my Anthem next month. Have it at home and its is wonderful. In the coach it should be even better because it will not heat up the interior like a conventional stove does.
