2016 Anthem - Flexsteel Passenger seat blowing fuse

Our new to us Anthem has blown 2 fuses (getting ready to replace fuse with a 3rd). Any thoughts or suggestions?

Check for a pinched wire under the seat causing a short.

I had this same problem on my hit list when we attended the recent Homecoming Rally and had the opportunity to provide the Entegra folks with some minor problem issues for their techs to troubleshoot and hopefully repair during the rally. The fuse in the passenger seat of our 2016 Anthem had blown two or three times and it had become a bit aggravating...we had tracked it down to the motor which operates the footrest so as long as my wife never used the footrest, all was OK.

As amazing as it sounds, the solution for this problem from the Entegra technicians after they consulted with some factory folks was to install a higher amperage fuse...the original fuse which I had repeatedly replaced was a 20 amp so they installed a 25 amp. Their factory contact claimed that the 20 amp fuse was right at the edge of providing enough juice to operate the footrest and that the circuitry and the motor were both more than capable of handling a 25 amp fuse. I have the names of the techs who worked on our coach with my wife as a witness to their recommended solution. So far we have not had any more fuse failures and no smell, smoke nor fire coming out from under the passenger seat!

You might give this a try...hope it works!

We got the same "fix" on our 2016 Cornerstone. It has now worked for 18 months and 20000 miles.

Thanks all. I'll give it a try. I seem to recall it was a 25amp fuse to begin with. I'll check.

Fuse is 25 amp and can't see any pinched wires (they are neatly wrapped in plastic tubing) I put in a new fuse and little hesitant to bump it to 30amp

Where might I locate the fuse(s) for the drivers seat? The foot rest buttons are not working but the other side buttons do work? 16 Anthem....

If it's shorting to ground, 30 amp fuse will blow as well. The only time you really have to be concerned is if the issue is not shorting to ground and you are constantly drawing more current than the wires are rated. If that's the case, they will eventually overheat and melt...which is the real danger.

Fuses for both the driver and passenger seats are in a black fuse box located in the outside compartment beneath the driver's window in front of the left front tire. Take the plastic cover off the lower of the two black boxes and both fuses are inside. I forgot the number (it's printed on the back of the plastic cover) but you will likely need a needle-nose pliers to get the fuse out and back in.

We had the same issue with 25A fuse blowing when operating passenger seat foot rest. Fix from CS was to replace 25A with 30A fuse. No problems since. DW uses this foot rest alot.
I have requested updated fuse schedule to reflect this change. So far nothing from Entegra on this

I don't think you will ever get an updated fuse schedule/label from Entegra.
