2016 Cornerstone Slide Problem(s)
We were on the way to a dealer's lot to look at a 2016 Cornerstone 45A (new) when we were called and told that the "circuit card" for the slides had just gone out and they wouldn't be able to show the coach with the slides out. We elected to continue on our 2.5 hour drive to the lot where we saw that the slides (all) were NOT extended. We were told a couple of times while we were there that a new circuit board had been ordered and would be arriving in a few days. Something with the story regarding the slide operation sounded funny. Having read on this forum how to repair the slide operation on Integra's, I thought the slides were operated by individual electric motors and switches NOT a central circuit board.
Does anyone have an idea how a "circuit card" could be the problem or was this just a fabricated story as is often done by dealers hoping to deflect the curious buyer while a more major repair is being done.
I appreciate your comments or suggestions as I have come to respect the owners on these forums for their candid and generally correct comments. BTW, its been a few days and no word on the status of the repair.
Thanks!

There is a board in the front drivers compartment. All slides on a different circuit. If one failed they should be able to switch the wires(emergency procedure learned on factory tour)

Yes, there are slide controllers located in the forward electrical compartment. It is the control board that tell the motor to go forward or backwards, how much thrust the motor is to have, etc. However, each slide has it own controller not all on one. If a slide controller was out, 3 of the slide should still be working.
If the CS was sitting on a dealers lot did they have a full charge on the batteries? The slides are 12v, if they just plugged in with dead batteries the slide might not work until the batteries have a charge, but I am sure they checked all that out before ordering the part.
One thing I question with a new 2016 still on a lot would be the condition of the batteries. The slides not working brings up the big ??.

brobox,
I was hoping you would comment. The condition of the battery trays tell me the story! You are spot on, I think. We'll see how the story unfolds. Thanks!

You might get lucky and the CS will have a new set of batteries if they are completely shorted out not allowing the slides to open. If not, it should be negotiated into the delivery after the price is agreed on.
