There used to be a time when a new model year was rolled out in September or October of the present model year. Depending on stock on hand it could be possible to have a chassis with 2015 birth date on a 2017 model year motorhome. |
My bounder is exactly that, it is a 2016 Bounder but the chassis is a 2015. It was on the Fleetwood production line in July of this year.

Learned one other change. Going back to a wood headboard on the Anthem.

Not to get ahead of things but I wonder a Anthem owner of a prior year could order one?

I can assure you with some confidence that Precision, Beaver in Bend, the guy that does custom down in Red Bay AL, and probably the folks that support lazy Days can make you one to order...not that tough a job of woodworking. JMHO

The easiest thing to do is tell the dealer when you put your order in that you want an all wood headboard.

Which shows that not all new changes are improvements. That's why I would not want to order a new model year coach until I saw what was going to be in it.

You can order the wood headboard from Entegra parts dept. Cost is $497.81 for the headboard and $ 163.22 each for the spindles that go on the sides. Entegra will not change anything from normal production. I talked with Joyce and she assured me that any changes to a headboard were done by the dealer. Not sure on shipping cost or how much of a problem to change out.

We agree 100% BUT these beasts no matter who makes them are compromises. We did not need nor want a 50" TV on top of an oversized fireplace cabinet/mantle but that's what came in our sight unseen new floorplan ordered coach. In our case there were a few surprises due to so many 2016 changes that we will change or hope to grow on us.

Yes I hear what you are saying and agree there is some risk involved with making an order sight unseen, but in this case we were able to order the same exterior/interior colors that we liked for 2016. I am told there will be some minor changes in the selected interior such as window valance coverings, but other than that I am confident we will be pleased with the finished product. Other than those "big" items we are very excited to see what upgrades will be incorporated into the 2017 model.

Marc, I totally agree....that Fabric headboard on the 2016 Anthem was definitely a step in the wrong direction for Entegra!
