It would be nice if manufacturers put a valved 'Y' fitting for a slinky right before the macerator to be used as a gravity dump for when the macerator fails. Fixing it would not be so messy if there was another way to dump the tanks.

Entegra DOES put a slinky connection with the macerator. Change oneslide valve and your in business.

I spent a limited amount of quality time with our 2018 today. Our hose is connected inside the little door. Does that mean when my DW does laundry we have to keep that little door open all day? I guess I'll find out in the next day or two.

Depends on how many loads she does. It is the simplest way and just leave the grey valve open while doing it. The grey tank will hold 5 loads through the washer IF you don't run much through the sinks, dishwasher and no showers during that time.

Gregg, I did the exact same mod, except I go directly to garden hose. The reduction in flow is quite minimal and it functions perfectly.

Dan, on the bottom of the hose bay should be a round deck plate. If you remove this and feed the hose down, it will exit the hose bay in front of the drive wheel and you should be able to then close the hose bay door.

After my modification, I use the hose bay as sewer storage. Everything I need to evacuate the holding tanks resides within that small bay.

Dan, my major objection to the setup Entegra provided to you and I, is that gravity draining the Grey tank isn't possible.

$5 worth of Sch 40 PVC Street Elbows, and another $5 worth of assorted PVC doodads, and a 1 1/2" hole saw and you're done with pumping waste uphill.

-Matt

Gene's post is why this setup isn't ideal.

We hook up and I leave the Grey open all the time, 0% in our Grey. In fact, I need to remember to close the Grey is I want "clean" water to flush after dumping the black.

We have always done the same Matt and use a second hose for rinsing the black tank but trying to break that habit this summer to save clean water. Takes a while to adjust but worth the effort. All JMHO

Relocated the macerator outlet to under the coach and installed a ball valve just before the hose connection so there is no spillage and used banjo couplings at all connections.

Cut the original factory hose down to under 9 feet, I also have the factory replacement hose for longer distances.

Only plan on using the macerator when traveling whereas its easier to use than the gravity drain under the coach.Click image for larger version

I am probably missing something here, but if I understand correctly, I will need to get under the wet bay to connect the slinky and change the valve. In my '13 I could do all that in the wet bay while standing. Gravel and wet ground aren't conducive to getting under the coach.

Or maybe I can just take the panel off to get to the components? I wasn't impressed with the "Open Door" on the '17. Are you telling me they have gone back to it on the '18's? Is there a hole for the hose to go through?

As someone else said - Seems like simpler may have been better.

Hey Emerson, I see your coach is consigned. Do you have something on order?

I am glad that I am not going crazy. I went to see the 2018 Entegras at FMCA Indy, and looked to see the new sewer hose hookup, under the coach, but it wasn't there on any of the coaches.

I do - and it's a Y. Don't you need another CS? Maybe a 2017 B?

Congratulations! Good luck with the sale! After having 2 Y's, I think it has become a pretty good floorplan.
