2019 Anthems

I am sure by now many of you have seen the list of new 2019 Anthem features. Lot's of great stuff. However, I was a little surprised not to see any changes from Spartan. I had been told by what I think was a pretty reliable source at Spartan that the full line of 2019s would include the new series of Cummins engines, and there was some speculation on this forum that Entegra might be upgrading the Anthem engine from a 450 to 500hp. Guess both my source at Spartan and the rumor mill missed the mark, at least for now.

Regards,

Who knows ... maybe a 19.5 new feature?

There would be a large price increase in the Anthem if they went to the 11.9 L 500hp. I am not sure but I think the chassis would have to be upgraded as well.

With the way Thor is changing things it doesn't seem like a path they would take but who knows

That would require a larger chassis, basically a K3, plus the Allison 4000 transmission. By the time all of those upcharges got factored in the Anthem wouldn't sell because the price would be too close to a Cornerstone.

The idea of a 450/1250 Aspire, a 500/1650 Anthem and a 605/1950 Cornerstone is great from a good-better-best marketing standpoint but unfortunately the math just doesn't add up when it comes to costing.

Newmar did that with the 450 Dutch Star, 500 Mountain Aire and 600 London Aire but the Mountain Aire just isnt' settig any sales records. They either drop down to the DSDP or go up a bit to the LADP.

I had heard the motor rumors from several people. I always doubted them because it would almost eliminate the Cornerstone's appeal. Entegra would not do something like that. My 45 pulls just fine anyway..

Where did you see the list of changes for 2019? Google didn’t turn anything up for me except for a link to this forum.

The "glass" speedo is a cool idea and the bigger drivers window is way over due.

Any input on price changes. I'm sure they went up, but I'm wondering how much?

For those who are curious about the Infinity Flooring...
Airstream and the boating industry have used for several years. It is SUPER durable and surprisingly comfortable. Jayco is also using in the new EMBARK, in case you saw it at Tampa

I've attached the best photo I could find (it is in a Jayco Melbourne Prestige)

Interesting, that stuff isn't usually high gloss... wonder how it will look next to the high gloss tile? I was all excited thinking it was like Newmar with the flat floor and real tile all over.

I believe (but do not have concrete proof) that Newmar sells more Mountain Aires than London Aires. Many have said that the 500/1650 is plenty with the Allison 4000 - gets better mileage too..

From what I have been told this is the case. There is so little difference that can be felt torque wise the MA is a good value and strong seller. The Essex is caught in the middle . Same power plant as the LA and kA but its hard to see where the money difference is from the LA
