38M Questions

We're trying to decide between an Aspire 38M and a Newmar Dutch Star. We currently own a Newmar Ventana so I am familiar with the way the Newmar systems work, but have questions on how Entegra does things.

1) Where is the A/V system located?

2) Are cables from the Sat receiver, antenna, dvd, etc. run to each tv through splitters or is there a central control box?

3) Does the aqua-hot heat the coach only through the floor heat, or are there actual heat registers also?

I know Entegra does very few custom modifications, but can anyone give me some examples of what they will do? Instead of the midship tv we would prefer a cabinet or at least the tv deleted, and one possibly on a lift in the dinette shelf across from the sofa (or at least have cables run there).

Thanks in advance

I think the reason you are not getting a lot of replies is that the 38M is an uncommon coach. I've only seen one, at NIRVC Atlanta. So most of us are unfamiliar with their features and equipment.

I'll answer the only one of these I know the answer to...the AH does have heat registers (exchangers) in the coach supplied with hot water and equipped with a very quiet 12 volt fan. They work very effectively.

Entegra is more then reluctant to agree to any factory modifications and so I believe you would have great difficulty in getting the deletions or additions you are wanting. We have a little experience as my wife did not want the standard equipment dishwasher and while we did not ask nor expect a price reduction it took a lot of negotiating to get it factory deleted.

This is probably the significant difference between Entegra and Newmar but you pay for the Newmar factory customization.

It is easier to have one if the many private facilities in the greater Middlebury area modify after the purchase.

The 2017 38M does not have a single A/V system. There are 3 inside TVs and one outside. There are 3 DVD players. My understanding is that the 2018 38M will not have the front DVD. There are sound bars with the middle, bedroom, and outside TV. Not sure what you mean by splitters versus control box. At each TV you select the input you want.

The AquaHot heat registers are very effective and I really like that front register is under the dashboard. Keep in mind that the 3 heat pumps also give heat down to 40 degrees

TV on lift behind dinette next to impossible because of space required out from wall would require major modification. Midship TV is fine.

Thanks for the replies. That's how I thought the AH operated. As far as the tv across from the couch and midship tv goes I will figure out when and if we purchase this coach. I currently have a midship tv and am tired of cranking my head 90 degrees to watch so that's gotta go, even if I need to carry a tv and put it on the dinette shelf when we're camping.

With the L sofa, two can very comfortably watch the midship TV. When sitting at the dinette it is convenient for one to watch the midship and one to watch the front.
Those nice windows at both ends of the driver side slide really make it look great.
Enjoy the search.

I wonder how many 38Ms were made. I'll bet less than 25. Still a good coach.

I would love to see a 40 ft Cornerstone w tag axle and the 600 ISX engine. Sort of a sporty RV.
