6000+ miles so far this year!

As the title says, so far this year I have made from Austin Texas, 2 round trips to Phoenix, one round trip to Daytona Fl, and I just got back from a round trip to Greeley Co. This weekend, I go to NE Texas for a 750 mile round trip, and a 300 mile trip the week after that. I bought it with 6000 miles a year and a half ago. It now has 35K as of yesterday. By the end of this year, I will put on another 20,000 miles or so. I just had my shop trailer painted to match the coach. It came out pretty good. The color was supposed to be the grey charcoal color along the rear, but he used the paint code for the metallic black. For what he charged to paint it, I am not complaining. A least it matches one of the colors!

This motorhome makes life so easy on the road since I usually drive around 800 miles a day.

I want to see the trailer painted picture! I also want to hear from you that drive 800 & 1000 miles per day how much time on the road that is. Tell me about breaks, lunch (I guess dinner too), fuel stops, etc. I guess there is no sightseeing when making miles like that. I could never, ever make those numbers. I still have to get my wife home to go to work f/t., but we consider the travel to and fro time as part of this lifestyle. I am exhausted at the end of a 500 mile day which is too much for me! The first thing I have to do when I stop and put it in park is have a beer before I even open a slide! Those numbers are unbelievable!

I take breaks whenever the need arises. Lunch and dinner is mostly microwave fare that is quick to make. A long break is around 30 minutes. I make a 1000 mile trip in 24 hours on average, and that includes 6 hours of sleep. I usually average 60+ MPH over the 16 to 18 hours it takes to drive 1000 miles. To be honest, driving the Entegra for 15 hours is less work than driving my pickup for 5 hours. I can sit back, put my feet on the dash, hit the cruise and go... I absolutely hate driving during the afternoon! I hate driving through cities during the day as well. I will push myself and get to the other side of a major city at 2am than hit rush hour traffic. I make these miles due to necessity. No one does this because its fun. The pictures i posted are with the new paint job on the trailer.

You know everyone is different. Some people don't want to drive more than 300 miles a day some like myself love driving. I went from doing 1000 mile days on the Harley to 750 mile days in the Entegra, guess I'm slowing down. The destination is only half of the fun.

We have done the 1000 mile trips a couple of times. Usually those are 18 hour days with very few breaks. While both of us are still working and we have kids in school, the trips have to be within certain time frames.

500 miles comfortably yesterday. That's one thing that impresses me with my Entegra, is that if you have to, you can.

That said, wished there was a little more leg room for the left leg. End up having a stiff knee after the long drives; but we don't do this often.

Oh do I agree with that left leg room. I have 37" legs and have had 2 left knee surgeries. That is my biggest complaint in that cockpit. 2nd is probably not enough tilt/flexibility in the steering wheel when I get my chair back far enough for those legs.

Of course, in keeping with the comfortable approach to life, you can pull your shoes off, and, baring DW offending foot odor, prop that left foot up on the dash for a different driving position

I certainly agree with the left leg room and the tilt-telescope comments.

I think the driver side mirror needs to be about two inches higher.
